Support that grows with them
We believe the right environment, the right home, the right people, the right support, is what makes all the difference. Here's exactly how we build that for every young person in our care.
The three things that change everything
A stable home
Our homes are designed to feel like exactly that: homes. Calm, welcoming, well-maintained spaces where a young person can put their things down and breathe. Not an institution. Not a temporary fix. A place that feels like theirs.
- ✓Age-appropriate bedrooms that are genuinely theirs to personalise
- ✓Close to schools, parks and community services
- ✓Safe and well-maintained, meeting all safety standards
- ✓Shared kitchen and living space that encourages routine and connection
Why stability matters
Young people who have experienced instability often spend huge amounts of mental energy on basic safety, just trying to figure out what's going to happen next. A consistent home frees up that energy for growing.

The shift model
Our Youth Workers rotate through regular shifts so there are always familiar faces present: morning, afternoon and overnight. Young people know who's coming and when. That predictability is powerful.
“Every young person deserves a place to belong, and people who stay.”
Our guiding belief
Round-the-clock workers
Youth Workers at Connect CWS aren't strangers who appear once a fortnight. They're a consistent team who take shifts, and come to know each young person genuinely, deeply, over time.
- ✓The same workers return shift after shift, building real relationships
- ✓Day, afternoon and overnight shifts so support is always present
- ✓Thorough handover practices so nothing falls through the cracks
- ✓Trauma-informed and trained in working with complex needs
Skills for the road ahead
Support isn't just about getting through today. It's about building toward a future. We work with each young person on the practical and personal skills they'll need to navigate life on their own terms.
- ✓School attendance, homework support and educational goals
- ✓Cooking, budgeting, public transport and daily life skills
- ✓Hobbies, sport and creative pursuits that build identity
- ✓Building toward independence, at whatever pace works for them
